The amount of time lost through absences as a percentage of staff time available for directly employed NHS staff.
Rationale
Meeting Working Together targets on levels of sickness absence is a criterion that NHS employers must meet in order to achieve Improving Working Lives accreditation. There is a target for all NHS employers to be accredited as putting the Improving Working Lives into practice.
