Thrombolysis protocols and procedures: Training of paramedic staff (score out of 100).

Rationale
To demonstrate NHS ambulance Trusts readiness to work with acute hospitals on delivering early thrombolysis through pre-hospital treatment where appropriate and/or communication of clinical information including ECG. Trusts should have locally agreed systems and procedures in place that ensure early access to thrombolytic therapy for all eligible patients with acute myocardial infarction including paramedic protocols for pre-hospital treatment where appropriate, supported by appropriate training , that comply with national guidance and have local clinical approval. The NHS Plan outlines a three year programme to train and equip ambulance paramedics to provide appropriate and safe thrombolysis management and care for eligible patients with acute myocardial infarction.
