Local system for suicide audit implemented.
Rationale
PPF Target 2002/3: By 2010 reduce the number of deaths from suicide and undetermined causes by at least 20%, with local services having in place from March 2002: systematic suicide audit programmes; multi-agency protocols for the sharing of information on high risk patients; and staff competent in the assessment of risk of suicide. Developing local systems for suicide audit to learn lessons and take any necessary action is a Mental Health NSF target.
