Percentage of eligible patients treated with thrombolysis within 30 minutes of hospital arrival.
Rationale
The CHD NSF identified action to improve the speed of treatment with thrombolysis (clot-dissolving therapy) following heart attack as one of the immediate priorities for action, with the target that 75% of eligible patients should receive thrombolysis within 30 minutes of hospital arrival by March 2002.
