Six month inpatient waits

Download table of results for all trusts (2.6MB)
Number of patients who had been waiting less than 6 months for inpatient treatment at quarter end divided by the number of patients on inpatient's waiting list, expressed as a percentage.

Rationale
The NHS Plan sets out how, by the end of 2005 the maximum wait for inpatient treatment will be cut to six months. Urgent cases will continue to be treated much faster in accordance with clinical need. This indicator shows how well Trusts have progressed towards achieving this target.
